Bank statement to Excel, without handing it to anyone

Transactions parsed into rows and columns you can open in a spreadsheet — dates, description, amounts, running balance. Invoices and LEDES billing files are recognised too. Everything happens in this browser tab.

Processed in your browser
  • Your statement is never transmitted

Most converters work by receiving the file on their servers — a document with your account number, your balance and every payee you have. This one parses it in the tab. Watch the Network panel while it runs.

  • Parsed as a statement, not as a grid

The document is classified first, so transactions come out as dates, descriptions, amounts and running balance — labelled columns rather than whatever the page layout happened to look like.

  • Scanned statements work too

Run Make Searchable first and on-device OCR gives the page a text layer for the parser to read. A scanned statement stays exactly as private as a downloaded one.

Statement parsing runs on Smart Table Extract, which is part of PDFMacro Pro. You can open the tool and see what it detects in your file on any plan.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

How do I convert a bank statement to Excel?
Open the statement and the transaction table is detected and parsed into dates, descriptions, amounts and running balance, which you export as XLSX or CSV. It is not a generic grid dump: the document is classified as a statement first, so the columns come out labelled rather than as whatever the layout happened to look like. The whole run happens in this browser tab.
Do my bank details get uploaded to a converter?
No, and this is the reason to use this one. Most bank statement converters work by receiving your file on their servers — a document carrying your account number, your balance and every payee you have. Here the parsing runs in your browser, so the statement is never transmitted, never stored by us, and never seen by a third-party service. You can confirm it in the Network panel while you work.
Which statements and formats does it handle?
Statements laid out as a ruled or column-aligned transaction table, from most retail and business banks, in whichever date and number format the statement uses — the locale is inferred from the document rather than assumed. Invoices and LEDES legal-billing files are recognised as their own types too, each with a parser written for that shape.
What if my statement is a scan rather than a downloaded PDF?
Run Make Searchable on it first. A scanned page is an image until OCR gives it a text layer, and there is nothing for the parser to read until then. OCR also runs on-device, so a scanned statement stays as private as a downloaded one. Once the text layer exists, extraction works on it normally.
Does Bank Statement to Excel upload my PDF to a server?
No. The file is opened, processed and saved back by code running in this browser tab — there is no upload endpoint on our servers to send it to. You can watch the Network panel in your browser's developer tools while you work and confirm nothing carrying the document leaves the page.
Is Bank statement to Excel free?
Bank statement to Excel is part of PDFMacro Pro. You can read what it does and open the tool on any plan; running it requires a subscription. It runs on Smart Table Extract, which is part of the paid plan. You can open the tool and see what it detects on any plan.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Once the page has loaded, every tool keeps working with the network disconnected, because the processing never depended on a server round-trip. AI features that use an on-device model need one download the first time; after that they run offline too.
