What does Compare show me?
Two PDFs side by side with the differences highlighted, so a revised contract, filing or draft can be checked against the version you had before without reading both end to end.
Do both documents stay private?
Yes — both files are opened and compared in your browser. Neither is uploaded, which matters when the two versions are a negotiation's before and after.
Does Compare upload my PDF to a server?
No. The file is opened, processed and saved back by code running in this browser tab — there is no upload endpoint on our servers to send it to. You can watch the Network panel in your browser's developer tools while you work and confirm nothing carrying the document leaves the page.
Is Compare free?
The core of Compare is free with a free account: up to 3 downloads a day, and a small PDFMacro line on each page of a saved PDF. Pro removes both. There are no page or file-size caps on either plan. Viewing two PDFs side by side, as a diff or as an overlay is free. Exporting the diff as a PDF is part of the lifetime licence, with trial runs available.
Does it work offline?
With Pro, yes. Once the page has loaded, every tool keeps working with the network disconnected, because the processing never depended on a server round-trip; OCR's language packs need one download the first time. A free account needs a connection to save, for its daily count. AI features need your AI: your provider online, or your local model running.
