How faithful is the converted document?
Text and structure carry over well; complex multi-column layouts and heavy graphic design are where any PDF-to-Word conversion loses fidelity, because the two formats describe pages in fundamentally different ways.
Will it work on a scanned PDF?
Yes. In the editable modes, a PDF with no text layer is detected and OCR'd on your device before conversion. Accuracy depends on the scan's quality.
Does conversion upload my PDF to a server?
No. The file is opened, processed and saved back by code running in this browser tab — there is no upload endpoint on our servers to send it to. You can watch the Network panel in your browser's developer tools while you work and confirm nothing carrying the document leaves the page.
Is PDF to Word free?
PDF to Word is free with a free account: up to 3 downloads a day, and a small PDFMacro line on each page of a saved PDF. Pro removes both. There are no page or file-size caps on either plan.
Does it work offline?
With Pro, yes. Once the page has loaded, every tool keeps working with the network disconnected, because the processing never depended on a server round-trip; OCR's language packs need one download the first time. A free account needs a connection to save, for its daily count. AI features need your AI: your provider online, or your local model running.
