Don't have a fillable PDF handy?
Adobe Acrobat, LibreOffice, and most form-builder tools can save a PDF with AcroForm fields — or use Form Fields to detect the blanks on a flat PDF, or place fields by hand.
Common questions
Frequently asked questions
What do I need to run a mail merge?
Two files: a PDF template that already has form fields, and a CSV with a header row. Columns whose names match a field are mapped automatically, and you map the rest by hand. Each row becomes one filled PDF. If your template has no fields yet, the Form Fields tool can detect the blanks on a flat form or let you place fields by hand.
What comes out at the end?
One personalised PDF per row, delivered as a single zip — a hundred-row CSV produces a hundred files rather than one document you have to split. Name them from your columns, such as {col:Client} — {i}, or leave the default of the row number; two rows that would share a name are numbered apart rather than overwriting each other. The whole run happens on your machine — a merge over a list of clients never sends that list anywhere.
Does Mail Merge upload my PDF to a server?
No. The file is opened, processed and saved back by code running in this browser tab — there is no upload endpoint on our servers to send it to. You can watch the Network panel in your browser's developer tools while you work and confirm nothing carrying the document leaves the page.
Is Batch Mail Merge free?
Batch Mail Merge is part of PDFMacro Pro. You can read what it does and open the tool on any plan; running it requires the lifetime licence, or one of the 3 trial runs a free account gets. The tool opens and explains itself on any plan; running a batch is what requires the subscription.
Does it work offline?
With Pro, yes. Once the page has loaded, every tool keeps working with the network disconnected, because the processing never depended on a server round-trip; OCR's language packs need one download the first time. A free account needs a connection to save, for its daily count. AI features need your AI: your provider online, or your local model running.
