Add a callout note to a PDF

Place a callout where there is room to write, then drag its tip onto the word, figure, signature block or number the note is about. The leader line stays attached to both ends, so moving the note later drags the line with it and it keeps pointing at the same place — which is the thing a separate text box and arrow cannot do.

Because an arrow in a PDF editor is a bounding box's diagonal: it runs corner to corner and nowhere else. That is fine for gesturing at a region and useless for pointing at a single word, and the arrow and the box remain two separate marks, so moving one leaves the other behind. A callout has a real free point, and the note and the leader are one object.

The plate is near-opaque so a note placed over dense body text stays readable rather than tangling with what is underneath.

No. The file is opened, processed and saved back by code running in this browser tab — there is no upload endpoint on our servers to send it to. You can watch the Network panel in your browser's developer tools while you work and confirm nothing carrying the document leaves the page.
